The effect this movie had on me was similar to how the soldiers expierience was in the film. All of the insane things happening around them started to make them calloused to the horror of their surroundings. So many suicides happened on screen, that even myself as a viewer became some what’s calloused. It’s a very powerful film, and it really did help to humanize the people close to Hitler.
