Good film. Has its problems and cliches, but Willem Defoe is sublime and perfectly cast, the cinematography is superb and of the multiple plot threads, the man vs nature/extinction dilemma is intriguing, bittersweet and very well handled. If the film had simply been about that it would have been even better.

Mostly just Dafoe bathing, walking around the wilderness, being threatened by the locals, bathing, rinse and repeat.
