A good twist to end a bad movie.

The concept was interesting, but the execution wasn't up to par and the main performances were pretty weak. The ending is good though and overall it's not a bad movie.

Second worst of the Saw movies (worst being #5). Cary Elwes and Danny Glover are excellent, has it's moments but too stupid for it's own good. Others besides V are miles better.

A modern classic horror film, just don't watch the sequels, they're awful.

I feel like the popularity of the franchise has tainted the viewing of the first saw movie for a lot of people. Just viewing it as a stand-alone film, as it’s own thing it was pretty enjoyable for me. The acting was much better than most horror movies I’ve seen, premise is pretty cool, and some of James Wan’s directing choices were fantastic.

Flawed but interesting and pretty frightening. It’s kinda good for the most part in every component of filmmaking. Story is interesting but incoherent and has some gimmicky twists and the filmmaking is, at times, competent for a low-budget horror film and also at times very terrible.
