Just got done watching this for the 5th time. It gets better every time. It is quite long, but it doesn't feel like it as it is easy to get caught up in the dreamlike atmosphere. Now my favorite Kubrick film. (I need to rewatch Dr. Strangelove and The Shining to see if they will move back ahead though.) Eyes Wide Shut is the most underrated film of all time if you ask me and pretty much a perfect film in all aspects.

I love this movie, like all Kubrick films, and this is really criminally underrated. Better to Forrest Gump, The Dark Knight and Return of Jedi

Watched this yesterday for the first time. For the past two days, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Such an underrated and misunderstood film. One of Kubrick's finest, if not greatest achievement, in my honest opinion.

Let’s be honest; Tom Cruise isn’t one of the greats. In fact, in many ways he’s what’s wrong with the movie industry. Watch Eyes Wide Shut in the context of Tom Cruise's career and you will see it as a future washup star who made a living of simplistic action thrillers for 10 year olds who just got lucky on one occasion; but watch it as it’s own film that happens to star Tom Cruise and it’s a damn masterclass of acting added upon the complex and meaningful script.

This is ranked 2297 on this site despite it meaning one of kubrick's best films and is one of the top movies of 1999, insane

This is rated as the 38th best film of 1999 on here. Shame on you people that have crap like the boondock saints or dogma above this towering masterpiece. Unquestionably in the top 5 of 1999, closer to #1 than it is to #5. Tom Cruise's biggest achievement

After viewing EWS multiple times, under multiple emotional/mental states of mind, I still feel like this movie was just an overly-sexual, dry plotted, dreamscape. It was very well filmed/shot/scored, smelled of Kubrick start to finish; but there was no point in the film I felt an ounce of emotion/connection to the characters or plot. It felt like a Walmart adult novel. Unless I missed some extremely hidden plot that google searches and reddit have yet to explain to me, I don't see the hype. Maybe it's because I waited 'till 2023 to watch it? Love to hear from someone who has this in their top 20 though.
