One of the greatest anime films ever made. It is such an intellectual film combined with a prevalent awesomeness that is amazingly entertaining. I love the action sequences, the colours and the animation itself. It has great themes involving politics and an intriguing mystery of 'Akira' itself. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get into anime films. Be aware though, there are moments of intense gore and also some grotesque images in the movie.

Look at the poster. That one shot of the bike was the only good part of this movie. Everything else was SHIT!
