Rob Zombie's Halloween offered a more practical explanation to Michael Myers origins than The Curse of Michael Myers did, ended up feeling much more like a Friday the 13th film, than a Halloween film, offering more graphic violence and nudity, which shouldn't have much a presence in Halloween.

What a joke. The original Halloween was brilliant in it's pure simplicity. Rob Zombie has to get 'ambitious' and update it? Why? And then you give Michael Myers a backstory? Idiotic. Michael Myers is pure evil. He kills without reason. Without motive. Showing that he had a 'troubled childhood' just destroys this awesome force of nature.

Yeah, I hate when the retcon (read: shoehorn) a backstory for serial killers. It's better when that shit isnt rationalised with pop psychology.

I agree with fleagle. Just thinking about this one makes me angry. I hated pretty much everything about it.

It's better then I thought it would be, but it's biggest problem is there in no definitive cut of the movie. The theatrical & director cuts have strengths and weaknesses to each other. Like Director's fleshes out characters more, but has some filler shots, and whole scenes that should be cut. Not to mention the awful escape scene, which was FAR better in the theatrical, not to mention it cuts out some filler. If there was a cut with the added fleshing out, extra shots to build tension, but cut out the filler, and had the theatrical escape scene, then honestly I'd say it'd be getting a 9/10. I really liked it, I just wish it had a better cut.
