Giving this more credit than I thought I would. For viewers that are able to get past the subject matter can see the achievements within the art of film here. Arguably one of the best scores I've heard this decade. It's one of the main things that kept my attention throughout as well as Brad Pitt's performance. He portrays a very believable character longing for something more than his objective at hand. It is a true and relatable form of humanity displayed on screen.

The most mopey and dreary mainstream movie to hit in a long time. There’s nothing offensive about this endeavor but there certainly isn’t anything thrilling about it either. Whatever marginal intrigue that is generated is lost in deadpan performances and a numb presentation.

This movie was horribly mis-marketed. Still a good movie in its own right, but it's not the deep sci-fi film it looks like in advertisements. Some nice moments, but also a few dumb moments (like some points, they seem to ignore how difficult some of the maneuvers they preform would be, which was odd given how grounded of a film is seemed to be.) I didn't particularly enjoy Pitts' performance, but maybe that was more the character. I will say, it's among the most beautifully shot movies I've seen this year, just some gorgeous shots in this movie. Overall, a well made movie, but not for everyone. 7.1/10

Tommy Lee Jones AND Donald Sutherland playing astronauts? Must be the unofficial sequel to Space Cowboys.
