This past Friday, I finally watched Finding Nemo. I've heard nothing but great things about this movie. It's pretty common to see it at the top of Pixar's filmography for lots of folk. While I did enjoy it, I think its reputation exceeds the movie a bit. The plot was basic and very thin. I know it's animation, but look at the twists and turns you get with the Toy Story franchise. I did find Nemo (pun) to be rich in themes. The dynamic between Nemo and his father, the father dealing with his own fears, and Nemo's coming of age transition were all well played.

Yes! It's a beautiful timeless masterpiece! Now just please don't make a sequel making the comic relief sidekick the protagonist and turning her comic schtick into a dramatic character arc

I think I kind of ruined this movie for myself by watching it over and over and over again as a kid; I remember there was one time when I watched it 4 times in a row in a single day... Nowadays I seldom rewatch it because I've grown a little tired of it, but it still has a lot of sentinmental, nostalgic value for me.
