It's fantastic but a bit weaker than the first one. The story feels a bit like the first one all over again but whatever. Though the editing and the sound design are superior in this film. There are obviously many great scenes with Kaji and also with his wife and the ending is one of the most impressive scenes I've ever seen in a 1950s film. Kobayashi is quickly becoming one of my favourite directors and I can't wait to see Human Condition 3 & Harakiri.
