Normally I use my second account (Eagle2018) to comment on recently released movies. But since I feel like I need to see this again and the film still needs to sink in, I will just give my rough thoughts. I really like it. I honestly don’t understand a few things and it can drag at points, but it’s definitely one of the best horror movies in recent memory. The characters feel real, the story's complex, there’s a lot of detail in each shot, the acting is superb and it's a great look at how people experiences grief. At first, I thought the ending was a little silly but after thinking about it, it fits perfectly into the story and adds a lot more complexity. I will give it an official rating out of 10 when I rewatch it, but for now, it’s definitely high up on my chart and my favourite movie so far this year!

2018 movie #16*: Hereditary. It’s slow, pretentious and, at times, implausible. Yet I still really like it! What I said above remains true but I would like to add that I picked up on a lot more in the rewatch. Easily the best movie of 2018 thus far! As someone who is no longer interested in dinosaurs, superheroes or even Star Wars; I just wanted something intense with drama that’s thought provoking and, flaws and all, Hereditary provides all this. 7.5/10.*Review after second viewing

Its a little long but some of the most genuinely unsettling horror of 2018. Toni Collette is incredible, as is Alex Wolff. They probably won't get award recognition but they'd be more than worthy.
