I hope so too. Nice Top 10. I've been meaning to see Elephant Man. What are your thoughts on it?

For me, I don't watch Elephant Man. I more of experience what happens in the film. Likely due to it being based on a true story. And boy does this film pay great respect to it. In short, love the film, and I personally strongly say that the film is worth seeing.

I love over-the-too movies-,so you can see why Kick-Ass is in my top ten. I'm purposely keeping my expectations low because I don't want to hype the movie up too much. I haven't even watch a trailer! Nor will I. I want a completely fresh viewing of the movie in the cinema.

If you don't mind me asking, what country are you from? I'm Australian. :)

Three questions.

What did you think of 300?

Are you excited for Before Midnight?

Have you seen Kick-Ass?

1.I thought it was a visual marvel filled with grand action scenes, solid performances with my favorite being Gerard Butler as Leonidas. I also liked the added subplot involving Queen Gorgo, trying to rally support for her husband efforts. Also, some of the quotes just make themselves. Like the famous "This Is Sparta!" It is simple, but it offers a lot of goods for it. It's a great film and it probably means I am a fan of Zach Synder now.

2.I actually am starting to watch the series for the first time. I saw reviews for Before Midnight online, and those reviews made me aware of the series. Yesterday, I watch Before Sunrise for the first time, and I adore it. So today I be watching Before Sunset, and after that Before Midnight. I can say that I am going to be pumped for Before Midnight, after viewing Before Sunset, so I am looking foward to it.

3.Sadly no, but I really want to.

That is awesome! I'm very happy you liked it! :) Do you have a favourite scene? One of mine is Big Daddy in the warehouse.

I see you liked World War Z as well. Other than Iron Man 3, it's the biggest surprise movie of the year for me.

It is hard for me to name a favorite scene, but I have to say a good number of my favorite scenes involed Big Daddy and Hitgirl. They just steal every scene thier in, which I find impressive considering one is played by Nicholas Cage, and the other being a child actor.

I was interested in World War Z because of my love for zombies. Plus it was staring Brad Pitt, who i think is a great actor. What I liked about it was to me, i thought the film overall had a strong cast, plenty of scares and thrills, and I have seen few other zombie flicks that match the scope of World War Z. My issues is that I found the pacing uneven at points, and the family, minus Brad Pitt and his characther I found rather dull. I don't hate them, it's just that they did not leave any impact on me. Overall though, I like the film. Not likely going to be on my best of 2013 list, but it does set a good groundwork for any upcoming sequels to it.

Also, may I ask? How was Iron Man 3 the biggest surprise of the year for you?

Can you please tell me your thoughts on Killing Season and Only God Forgives as well? :)

I may of had the same problem as you in the third act. I ended up giving the movie 4.5/5 on letterboxd, but I was thinking 5/5 until the third act. Yeah, the Big Island section is great! I think I know why you shed a tear, I get it. It nearly got me, but not quite. I really enjoyed Halle Berry as a reporter- whatever section that is. Also a majority of the Neo Seoul section was great, especially the action. But a few bits were a bit flat for me as well.

Two questions about Killing Season.

How was Travolta's accent?

How would you rank Travolta's beard out of ten? :D

Thanks for your thoughts on Only God Forgives. I plan to watch it next week now.

Do you want to direct a movie?

Ha! That's a good score for his beard. :)

Yep, I'll make sure to tell you what I thought about Only God Forgives.

That's awesome mate. :) If you ever succeed in making a short film, let me know. Especially if I could see it on YouTube or something like that. :) As for me, I don't think I would be capable of it. Maybe if I learnt some of the skills required. I've always had an idea in my head, but lacked what was required to get it made.

It's cool, I thought it would be something like that. It did seem out of character for you, so I just assumed that was the case. :)

I enjoyed Thor 2, but I had a few problems with it. I didn't find any of the scenes with Kat Dennings or Chris O'Dowd funny, I didn't like all the coincidences, the dialogue was very clunky at times, the villains didn't interest me and many character were underutilised. However, I gave it a 3.5/5 on letterboxd for some of the action and Loki, who brought a spark to the second half of the film.

I love Mortal Kombat myself! Oh, how cheesy it is! But I just love that music! Test your might! MORTAL KOMBAT!!! :) When that comes on when Lui Kang and Shang Tsung are about to fight, man, do I get excited. :D

I have the ps4, well, my sister has my ps4, I have to go to the city to pick it up. I still have so many ps3 games to get to.

Is there many other video game movies that work for you? I can't think of many more.

I will agree with you on the first Tomb Raider film, but the second, I found boring.

Wreck-it Ralph is a bit different to what we're talking about, but yes, it's a great movie.

Where to start?! There is so many bad video game movies! I think that they fail so much because Hollywood doesn't pay enough respect to the getting the right screenwriters or directors. Sure, they get s good cast most of the time, but what they get to work with is so empty! It'll be interesting to see how the Warcraft movie goes when it's released.

Well, there was a few surprises this year for me. The first on the list below is the most surprising. I would add that these lists would be before knowing any critical reception.

World War Z
Gravity (because it's my movie of 2013 so far)
Iron Man 3 (really didn't like Iron Man 2)
The Way, Way Back

Biggest disappointments

Kick-Ass 2
Elysium
Evil Dead
Pacific Rim
A Good Day to Die Hard
Trance
Thor: The Dark World

How about you? :)

The only reason World War Z is above Gravity is because of all the troubles the shoot had. I thought it was going to be up for razzzy awards at the end of the year.

I only just noticed how high Gravity was. That's awesome you liked it so much. :) I watched it two days in a row. :D

Nobody tried with Die Hard 5. It was a sorry sight to see. I wish it got nominated for the razzy awards. Especially Bruce. He was sleepwalking through the movie.

Oh, you were focused on the movie alright! Wow! :)

Bruce is a grumpy old bastard now. He doesn't have the energy, or passion for action movies anymore. He said so himself. Unless they get quality people surrounding another Die Hard, I hope the franchise is over. They better not make the son the lead! That would be awful.

Ah, I know what you mean. Trailers are so bad for spoilers now, aren't they? But this one, I watch over and over. It's short, and only has flashes of what's happening. I just love what Pearce is saying in the teaser. I'm digging the score, too.
