Both underwhelming entries this year, and what Kong: Skull Island represents is more repugnant, but on their own merits Covenant disappointed me more, whereas I at least derived some entertainment out of Kong. Kong wins.

Kong: Skull Island sticks in my memory more. Alien: Covenant, although not bad, is pretty forgettable.
