Two films that are epic in their own way. While I do like the performances in The Departed, Watchmen's visuals and justice to the graphic novel made it an even more enjoyable experience.
The Departed takes it for me. I enjoyed Watchman, but had no history with the source material, so I found it unremarkable. The Departed is another victory for Boston crime movies...and I hate Boston.
Tough. Overlong epics. Both adaptations of superior originals. Watchmen loses more in the translation. I pick the Departed.

either way, the departed has to be more easy to understand than the watchmen, but i pick thw watchmen.
