Both films worked for me, but Gladiator is just a little gnarlier.

Unforgiven is a great movie. I don't love Gladiator

Unforgiven is the deeper, more thoughtful film. Easy pick for me.

I saw "Gladiator" when it opened in theaters, and it just felt artificial to me. I don't know how much of the movie was CGI, but I just couldn't get into it the way I wanted. "Unforgiven" felt like an organic movie, and for that alone it gets the nod.

Didn't really care for either, but I guess if I had to pick it'd be Unforgiven.

Unforgiven for sure, story and cinematography are far superior. Gladiator is overrated but still a good action film. It plays to fast and loose with History for my tastes.

Tough choice here. Gladiator gets the edge I suppose. I prefer Unforgiven's ending, but Gladiator just has a richer story and is more engaging from start to finish.
Crowe over Clint on this one....
Gladiator wins for me.
