The definitive film on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. vs the definitive film on Malcolm X. Selma was the story of a movement, whereas Malcolm X was about a man. X is the film that forced Hollywood to look at Denzel Washington and Spike Lee. Hopefully the same will happen with David Oyelowo and Ava Duvernay. I give the slight edge to X, but I admit it's as much to do with a bias towards Denzel as any other reason. Both brilliant achievements in cinema that tell a story that needs to be seen and needs to be remembered.
