Random Harvest vs. Grand Hotel

Two films with contrived plots that nevertheless, have touching moments and good performances. That Paula loses her husband tracks him down, realises what has happened and gets a job as his secretary to be near him, all without him realising who she is, is heart-breakingly portrayed by Greer Garson. Grusinskaya leaves Grand Hotel with joy in her heart after the long nights of darkness and despair, all because she's going to meet the Baron and catch a train elsewhere, away from her troubles. But of course, he's not going to be there. In a battle between memory-loss plot twists and intersecting stories woven together, I'll give it to Grand Hotel.
