when i watched harry met sally for the first time this march, it blew me away, and stood out as maybe better than sleepless. given distance, sleepless is the one i go home to

If anyone other than Meg Ryan had been the lead in these films, they would have been saccharine beyond redemption. Somehow, Ryan makes the characters seem less icky. I think When Harry is better structurally, and Crystal is charming enough, but Sleepless has Tom Hanks, so it wins.
