A couple of movies about black guys becoming self-made men in the criminal underworld who deal with similar issues. The Mack is a bit rough around the edges, but there are some good lines in there and it's kind of a philosophical film. More so than American Gangster, perhaps. The Goldie character is not a good person, exactly, though he does want to do the right thing. Denzel in Gangster is more ruthless and not as conflicted about right and wrong. I guess Gangster is slicker and better made. The Mack seems to have more heart.
