A couple of films with shady folks and passion. Bitter Rice manages to make rice planting seem seductive. That's what movies are all about my friends - giving beauty to even the most mundane sorts of things. The Strange Love of Martha Ivers doesn't achieve anything on a similar level, but it does have some good melodrama. Bitter Rice is probably even superior in that regard now that I think about it. Maybe because it's Italian.
