In both cases I find the lead male character somewhat unsympathetic and end up wishing better for Elizabeth Taylor, but at least Monty Clift is a better actor than Hudson, and A Place in the Sun doesn’t go on for what feels like an eternity.
A Place in the Sun is a more compelling story and Montgomery Clift is great.
