Altman, Altman, Altman. I'm choosing The Player. Both are great.

Even though a lot of characters in Short Cuts are terrible people, I did care about them on some level, and was fascinated by the complicated web of relationships presented in the film. With The Player, you’re just stuck with the one slime ball for most of the runtime, with occasional bright spots provided by Whoopi Goldberg and Richard E. Grant.
