Rampage vs. Pacific Rim: Uprising

I didn't have high expectations for Rampage, yet it still disappointed me. It's just bad. Pacific Rim: Uprising is only kinda bad, which is more than enough to take this matchup.

Both are bad, it's true. CGI clusterfooks of very very disappointing levels.

I thought Rampage was a generally fun time. I had no expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. PR2, on the other hand, was quite the disappointment and sadly not in the same league as the original.

Rampage for having an easier to follow plot in contrast to Pacific Rim 2 which quickly reaches shark-jumping velocity.

These two 2018 offerings are about the same when it comes to what they offer. Some cool action, some made up science, and a lot of cheesy lines. That being said, Rampage is original and offers a little more for me.

I'm totally with iSeth on this: Rampage totally exceeded low expectations. The CGI is excellent, and, while not being on the same level as Kong: Skull Island or the original Pacific Rim, it's quite fun. Uprising, meanwhile, gets automatically compared to its predecessor and pales in comparison. I will say this: Both these movies have very charismatic leads, but Dwayne Johnson is aided by a somewhat better movie (despite Malin Akerman's ridiculous Bond-like villain), while poor John Boyega practically has to carry is own film all by himself.
