The King's Speech vs. The Last King of Scotland

Inspiring vs Harrowing. Firth vs Whittaker. Just watched The King's Speech and really enjoyed it, but seen The Last King of Scotland several times now. I think TKS is overall a better film, with one of the finest casts and acting ensembles I have seen in a VERY long time (not a single bad performance, and everyone stood out in their own way, and that's rare), but TLKoS is much more harrowing and powerful. They are both design to evoke different emotional reactions as I mentioned at the beginning of this post. But I think TLKoS just edges it for pulling no punches and hitting me harder than I expected it too. And while this is easily Colin Firth's finest performance, Forest Whittaker is simply unforgettable in my opinion. Two Kings: one meek, one mighty. I still love TKS, but TLKoS wins this one. Very good comparison.
