I quite enjoy some of Powell & Pressburger's films, but The Red Shoes is not one of them. Compared to watching Ann-Margret shimmy and shake in Viva Las Vegas, all the ballet stuff in The Red Shoes seems terribly uninteresting. Elvis doesn't even hold up against her. Viva Las Vegas isn't all that good otherwise, but anytime Ann-Margret is on screen my mind is blown.
