"The Blair Witch Project" is probably the best horror movie of all time, and over the decades that will become more apparent to many of its current detractors. "Alien," though, is a great horror movie and a great sci-fi movie. So my head tells me to vote for Alien. But I'm going to listen to my heart, which still beats faster when the shit starts to hit the fan in the woods of Maryland. :)

Blair Witch is a much better film on repeated viewings. Something Alien fails to live up to.

An alien is scarier than a shaky cam and a levitating corpse.
I agree Alien doesn't rewatch well, but I don't think that has anything to do with it being a bad film.

I haven't gone back to watch The Blair Witch Project yet, but I don't know what you dudes are talking about saying that Alien doesn't reward repeated viewings. Both of these films were so influential and important that I think it's gonna be a long time until we see films that AREN'T stealing elements from both.

Alien. Blair was a nice minimalist horror, but I didn't care for any of those guys that got lost in the woods. I'm with Ripley on this one.

The Blair Witch Project is one of worst films i ever seen. Alien is one of best films ever made.

I think that Blair Witch Project is the scarier film, but in all other aspects Alien takes the pie.

The Blair Witch Project works great as a character drama about three student filmmakers getting lost in the woods, but I don't think it's quite as effective as a sheer horror film. Alien, on top of its subtle world-building, nuanced characters, intriguing ambiguity, and underlying sexual themes, is also way scarier.
The Blair Witch Project was child's play in comparison to Alien.

The Blair Witch Project is one of the most interesting projects I've ever seen. I can see why people dislike it but I personally loved it. Alien is much better though, of course.
I loved Blair Witch in it's time...but it's no Alien...

Is this serious? Alien is a truly amazing sci-fi horror movie, arguably a masterpiece; The Blair Witch Project is one of the most overrated movies I've ever seen. It somehow manages to be boring and actively annoying at the same time.
