Something about 28 Days Later rubs me the wrong way. I don't know what it is but I just can't get into it. Night of the Living Dead is laughable at times but is so incredibly influential to the horror world that I will pick it over Boyle here. I love most things about it such as the black and white photography and the premise but the acting is horrible.

I love Boyle's 28 Days Later. The man alone in London is creepy and the building tension and fight for survival is exhilarating.

I really enjoyed both of these. I think the sociological aspects of "Night of the Living Dead" put it over the top for me, though.

As much as I love Boyle's movies and especially 28 Days Later, Night of the Living Dead is so influential and so well done on every level that it is the only choice.
