Average Denzel movies. Neither great, neither "bad" in any particular way. I give a bit of an edge to John Q. Maybe it's because I saw it at a drive-in theater with my girlfriend...
John Q is pretty much average but Inside Man is a lot better than that I loved that movie.

Inside Man was a great film. Loved it. John Q was also pretty good, but... Inside Man wins this because it is far more unpredictable than John Q.

Man, I love Denzel Washington, but he has been in some crappy movies, hasn't he? I found Inside Man about as exciting as drying paint, but it still beats the overwrought corniness that is John Q. Coincidentally, both of these are hostage films. Evidently not my favorite genre.
