I think these are both great (and somewhat underrated) modern Disney animated flicks. Both are rollicking adventures. I think, maybe, I slightly prefer Atlantis, because it eschews the requisite musical numbers (not, as a fan of traditional Disney animation, that there's anything wrong with that....).

But the "requisite musical numbers" are part of what sets Tarzan apart from your usual Disney fare; Phil Collins gives the soundtrack a unique flavor and the characters don't break out into song as per usual, which is a nice change of pace. Atlantis was good, and better than most Disney movies, but nothing about it struck me as great, whereas, with Tarzan, the animation is dazzling and I can listen to the soundtrack on repeat for hours at a time without growing bored of it.
