Interesting, considering that Lucas based Stars Wars off of a Kurosawa film.

Yojimbo is an interesting film, but this matchup is no contest at all. Star Wars wins easily.
Star Wars was based on Kurosawa's "The Hidden Fortress", but for this matchup...Yojimbo, without a doubt in my mind- Superior writing, acting and direction. I mean, Toshiro Mifune & Tatsuya Nakadai >>>>>>> Mark Hamill & Harrison Ford. And Kurosawa >>>>>>>>>>>Lucas.

Is Yojimbo the better film? Yes. Is that a valid excuse for the distinct lack of one-eyed garbage monsters? No.
