Two great Star Trek films. First Contact is the best; I'd rank The Undiscovered Country third out of the eleven.

My favorite TOS movie vs. my favorite TNG movie. I adore both, but I have to give the edge to "Star Trek VI" for 1) its socio-political commentary and 2) being the movie that made me a Trekkie.

If anybody doesn't call First Contact their favorite TNG film, I don't know which one they'd pick, and frankly, I'd question what kind of Trekkie they were. But I notice here that I called First Contact the best of the Trek films; I must have felt like it at the time, but 9 times out of 10, I'd choose The Wrath of Khan over it. (Of course, that means that ten percent of the time, I go with First Contact...)

I wouldn't necessarily call First Contact the best of all Star Treks, even if it is a lot of fun. I think VI just beats it for the political qualities, and for not relying on fist fights for all its set pieces.
