The Bicycle Thief is a simple, but moderately entertaining tale. It gets to me to thinking about if dishonest acts are ever truly justified. Are your problems more important than anyone else's? Is your integrity more important than basic survival? Should you be capable enough to always find a non-dishonest way of handling things? Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom doesn't really make me think at all. Well, at least about the Big Issues. I guess these are both morality tales, but most people don't encounter the kind of stuff going on in Salo. The Bicycle Thief speaks more to everyday concerns. But if you ever happen to be in a position of power, don't kidnap young people and make them eat ca-ca.
