Saturday Night Fever is a nice slice of life film about a magical time where people wore funny outfits and danced the night away. Sullivan's Travels is about the power of comedy films to raise people's spirits, or something. I like Joel McCrea and Veronica Lake's banter, but I think the movie becomes too preachy toward the end. Saturday Night Fever doesn't have a message so much. It's just about some people I find endearing.
