Two great Noirs, but "The Killing" is definitely superior. Regardless, I'd like to give an shout to "Thieves' Highway." Jules Dassin deserves more modern recognition than he receives. He had a terrific knack for gripping suspense sequences. Just watch the heist in "Rififi."
