War is the weakest of the new trilogy for me, but still beats Escape.

I really like Escape. It's joyful, ambitious and overall compelling. It's the last one where the filmmakers actually tried making a well structured and interesting film until Rise in 2011 (or at least the last well structured and interesting one until Rise)! War is a fine character piece but I wasn't into it like I was into the 1968 original or Escape and the tone was too pretentious for my liking!
