A fantastic match-up. I thought both lead performances were very good, but felt Anna Paquin was just well cast rather than great at acting, have no idea about Elizabeth Olson's acting ability so it would be unfair to judge on that. HM! Margaret really needed another couple of years in the editing booth but then MMMM had a simple flashback device (show in the present, callback to the past) that was way over-used and irritated me. HM! Well, both films are worth a watch but I'm going to pick Martha Marcy May Marlene for now, subject to change!

I saw both of these on the same day and loved both but Margaret is the clear winner.

Martha Marcy May Marlene wins for me. For Margaret, there's a masterpiece in there somewhere, but I think a few more weeks in the editing room would've helped the film reach that status. As is, though, it's a very good movie that's a bit of a mess at the same time.
After watching Silent House I realize that Elisabeth Olsen is a seriously talented actress and I think I'll go with MMMM over Margaret as both are good but I think MMMM is the film I would watch again.
