They're both great, but I think i'll go for room.
I'm gonna go in the opposite direction here
Room is too much of a downer (for me). Arrival at least had some cool squid-guy alien things that did ink-talking.

Arrival gets better more I watch it!

Hmm, the sci-fi thriller or the claustrophobic drama? Brie and Jacob gave better performances than Amy and Jeremy but Arrival was probably more interesting overall. However, Room has been in stuck in my for far longer so perhaps it gets the edge.
