Two of the best of 2016. For the moment, I'm going with The Nice Guys, but Arrival (which I just saw) lived up to the hype.

I'm going with The Nice Guys and it's easily one of my favorites of 2016. I didn't really think Arrival lived up to Villeneuve's other work.

Arrival was good for what it was, but felt sort of hermetically sealed. The Nice Guys is messy and brash and chaotic, what a B-movie oughta be.

Arrival was so overrated. I love the Nice Guys. Very underrated and performed poorly at the box office. Gosling and Crowe had great chemistry. Very funny. I loved Prisoners and Sicario. And was so excited for Arrival everything looked perfect in the trailers. But I left theater feeling a little empty and not all satisfied. Jeremy Reener and Amy Adams gave great performances. The aliens looked cool slong with their ships. The cinematography was beautifully shot but it just felt dull to me. The Nice Guys was perfect imo.
Blade Runner 2 please good.
