Pfffff. The Letter is unquestionably the better movie with better acting, but in spite of the terrible sets/costumes and the mauling of the Broadway score, I might actually be more likely to watch Brigadoon, just for the dancing and entertainment value. Interestingly, the best performance in each comes from a supporting player: the eerily restrained James Stephenson in The Letter, and the entertaining Van Johnson in Brigadoon. Hmmm. Stephenson really was fabulous in The Letter. This is a toughie.
