Memento is such a clever and original film, Avatar just can't quite measure up.

Memento. Avatar was good but relied too much on special effects. Memento was just pure story.
Memento is one of the most brilliant scripts in cinema. Avatar is well structured but the script is painfully cliche and predictable at points. Memento for the win.

As much as I adore Avatar and it's feel-good story, it's not as good as Memento.
