Man of Steel vs. The Dark Knight

Man of steel looked nice but i didn't focus on what superman represents, they talk about it but you never really get the sense that the film has acheived potraying that. The Dark knight was nearly flawless in hindsight does the jokers plan hold up to real world logic, no but it dosn't have to. Batman and the joker represent two clashing ideas and watching how the citzens of gothom react to them was handeld perfectly, no contest here The Dark Knight is still one of the quintisential movies in superhero lore.

Not even a contest. TDK just destroys the mindless Man of Steel. MOS wasn't even any fun. TDK was chilling, smart yet still found a bit of fun.

Man of Steel gets a lot of shit, but I loved it. The Dark Knight is the superior film though.

The Dark Knight is the best comic-book movie ever made so it easily wins here. And hopefully the upcoming film with both will be good. I am excited.

One was very good....the other was simply great.

I really enjoyed MoS despite all the hate. Even if the film felt humorless, I enjoyed it very much. Snyder mostly succeeded but seriously, TDK thumps it. Has everyone heard the news? Man of Steel 2 will have Batman!!!!

TDK absolutely crushes MOS.

Ben Affleck as Batman in the Man of Steel sequel? Um, no thanks...

BEN AFFLECK as BATMAN? Wuhuh, what. Well, nobody expected Michael Keaton aka Mr. Mom to become Batman, so who knows. I'm gonna laugh my ass off if he's going to imitate Christian Bale's Batman voice though.

^Okay, okay. I'm sure Affleck won't be an awful Batman. I take back what I said, I was just slightly disappointed because there were a couple of other actors that I'd hope would play Batman and I was not expecting Ben Affleck. Some people weren't happy about Heath Ledger playing the Joker in The Dark Knight and well, everyone loved his performance. Same with Keaton and probably Bale. Ben Affleck has turned his career around and directed an Oscar winning film, so he's doing good in Hollywood. I apologize for my stupid comment, they could have made a much worse casting.

*casting choice.

Eh, Ben Affleck is a decent choice for Batman. He's not a very good actor (he's certainly no Christian Bale), but I'm pretty sure he's not going to need to be, if the bombastic Man of Steel is any indication. This particular matchup is a joke, of course. Man of Steel aspired to be like The Dark Knight and fell way short of its mark.

No comment. It's so obvious, The Dark Knight.

Not only do I prefer The Dark Knight, but it really IS the better film!

TDK.

I don't think that the fact that the film was aping Nolan's trilogy was Man of Steel's biggest problem. Sure, Nolanifying Superman doesn't work AT ALL (just look at The Amazing Spider-Man, it didn't work there either), but Man of Steel was just a shitty movie, regardless if it was a watered down, messy Batman Begins for Superman. The acting sucked, the dialogue was nothing but redundant exposition (with the emphasis on "nothing but"), the cinematography was beyond obnoxious (so, what, Snyder was trying to emulate "Is it a bird? Is it a plane?" in his cinematography? Why? It looks so amateurish), the script was an absolute mess and the film itself was just a chore to sit through.

This isn't even worth discussing. There's a clear victor here.

One of them is at #8 on my chart and the other one is somewhere in the hundreds. TDK is a fuckton more better. But I still enjoy the hell out of MOS. I don't get all the hate for it though. It was av fun movie. I hope Dawn of Justice is good.

Have to admit that man of steel is one of the worst awful boring bad superhero films ever, the dark knight is obviously he best movie ever.

The dark knight is a much better film.

The dark knight destroys here.

The Dark Knight in a mismatch

I like Man of Steel, but Dark Knight obvious wins

The Dark Knight is better by quite a bit. It just has way more going for it. It's better on a technical level, it has a tighter script, has gritty action, presents moral dilemmas, and it's a psychological masterpiece. It's an amazing movie
