Two Westernised romantic tales in an Islamic setting from 1926. Rudolph Valentino's last film is notable for some very dark and extremely smouldering looks, as well as him playing father and son, often on screen at the same time. It's also notable for some of the most humourous cutlass fights I've seen on screen. The Adventures of Prince Achmed can move slowly, but it's the first animated feature length film. And it's wonderful in its own magical, shadowy way. It wins.
