Miss March vs. 21 Jump Street

To be honest, I expected a lot more from the crew of The Whitest Kids U'Know with Miss March. I realize that the concept was junior high at best, and maybe studio meddling and forced promotional tie-in obligations stood in the way, but the movie played it far to safe and ended up overly trite and forgettable, beyond Craig Robinson's Horsedick.Mpeg character. 21 Jump Street wouldn't have seemed to have as much potential, but Jonah Hill has come to be automatic in these kind of comedy roles. It would have been so easy for 21 Jump Street to be done in the same, boring, overly-faithful-to-the-source-material way, it took a chance, which was surprising considering it ended up kicking off the early summer movie season with a bang. It was nice to see a major studio not do the same old thing and I'm glad that audiences rewarded the excellent work done by the writers, cast and crew of 21 Jump Street with accolades and a substantial box office.
