Both of these are great, modern horror cult flicks, and both are vastly different in terms of scares. The Collector is relentless and in-your-face, much like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Insidious, on the other hand, was a slow burn, with some fantastic visuals and one hell of an ending, much like The Exorcist. I think out of the two, Insidious wins out. To me, it comes down to taste, and Insidious more my taste in horror than The Collector.
