Two great movies

They are great, but both I think are slightly over-rated by their fans. Having said that, both are, at the time of typing, in my top 100... I'm picking the imagery of The Night of the Hunter over the staginess of 12 Angry Men.

Night of the Hunter was pretty horrible I thought and I liked 12 Angry Men, so I have to go with the latter.

Odd and unsettling, The Night of the Hunter is unlike any film I've ever seen; I was quite impressed by Charles Laughton's direction. That said, the film is not nearly on the same level as the great 12 Angry Men.

I felt that Night of the Hunter fell apart a bit in the second half. I still really liked it, but I wish the second half was better. On the other hand, 12 Angry Men is pretty much perfect.

Night of the Hunter is good, it just doesn't hold a candle to most movies.

12 angry men is great and really impressive, but the night of the hunter is astonishing
