The Third Man vs. Night and the City

Of these European-based noirs, The Third Man is undoubtedly more widely known and respected. I love the tone of the film, the cinematography, and Orson Welles's brilliant performance (probably one of the greatest supporting turns in cinema), but I can't say I was taken much with the rest of it. I found parts of it rather ... flat, I guess you'd say. I found Night and the City far more effective, with its interwoven plot lines, air of high tragedy, and fabulous ensemble cast. Seriously, if you're a noir fan, give Night and the City a try.

Night and the City isn't bad, but should be better. Going for The 3rd Man here.
