Two really good 1998 movies. Norton gave the performance of the year.

Hanks is fighting Nazis, Norton IS a Nazi. Norton's performance is so powerful that I have to give it to X, but I doubt I'll be watching either of these films again any time soon, they're both so darn depressing.

So tough. Love Norton and Hanks. Because of the first scene alone, Private Ryan wins.

I like both films. Im giving this one to Saving Private Ryan. There is no beating the heart pumping action and the fine acting. Spielberg was on the top of his game when directing this fine Oscar winning beauty.

American History X for me. As awesome Private Ryan was, AHX left a lasting impression on me and I simply consider it to be the better more important film. Ed Norton gave one of the best performances of the decade as Derek Vinyard. Both the films had heart-rending endings.
