While both are focused on an individual's experiences, No Regrets recaps the war years more thoroughly, though of course Come and See's ability to recapture the visceral horrors of the USSR's experience is remarkable for a movie made so long after the fact. No wrong choice here, but I'm going with the Kurosawa, which is a vital part of the conversation about that director's body of work. Back to Back on my chart right now.
