I was never a fan of the Japanese remakes but if I have to pick one, I'll go with The Ring.

Two horrible movies, but if I have to watch one, I would choose Ring over grudge.

two scary movies but the grudge is soooo far better than the ring. writing, directing and acting whereas i feel the ring films just repeat themselves. theres nothing new

The Ring was head and shoulders above the Grudge.

Americans cashing in on Japanese creativity while offering nothing new. The Ring is tolerable, The Grudge is awful. Winner: The Ring.
