No question, the first is the only one worth seeing.

The first is a masterpiece, the third is a turd.

"Masterpiece" is overstating it, in a big way. Without Depp (and, to a lesser extent, Geoffrey Rush), the first Pirates has very little going for it. I actually don't think the sequels were really any more or less intelligent than the first. The third just made the big mistake of excluding Captain Jack Sparrow for the first hour. (And it does get a little weird....)

I think I sounded a little harsh there. I do really enjoy the first Pirates, and I mean to say that I like the sequels as dumb fun, but certainly a lot less than the original.

Loved the first, liked the second, hated the third.

The first one brought the pirate movie back to life and was very entertaining. Part 3 was not needed.

I pretty much agree with everyone else, the first was great, it made pirates cool again. The 3rd one, well.... not so good, saw it once and havent watched it again, watch Black Pearl frequently. Im not sure why anyone would pick Worlds End over Pearl.

Here's a matchup worth having. Curse of the Black Pearl is by far the best movie in the series, and in fact one of the better adventure movies to come out of Hollywood in a long time. The third one, on the other hand, definitely felt every bit of its three hours.

Well Black Pearl is too long but does have a complete story. At World's End is too long, has a labyrinthine plot contingent on having seen the previous two films to understand the character's motivations, and is a tad tedious. Black Pearl, the original and the best.

At World's End has finally opened its account. Woo-hoo!!!

In all honesty I love all 4 Pirates movies, but the first is still the best and in my opinion the third is the worst.

At World's End is terrible. It's probably the only movie on my list that you can't possibly force me to rewatch. Paranoid Park? Sure. White Chicks? No problem. Scary Movie 3? Eh, okay. Napoleon Dynamite? Tough, but alright. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End? Fuck. No.

Tough choice. I like them both. However I probably would choose POTC At world's end
