WOW. Now that's difficult. But I think the awesome character of Orson Welles ultimately wins it for The Third Man.

I honestly felt that The Third Man dragged in a few places, although I'm probably due for a rewatch. The Falcon is one of the best noirs ever made, with some fun moments as well as that supremely dramatic conclusion. It's my favorite of the two.
Two movies that are universally loved...but both nearly put me to sleep. In my opinion, there are no winners here...but I guess I have to choose one.
Both movies are probably overrated. I still liked The Maltese Falcon, although it was nothing special. The Third Man, though, was really underwhelming and had some significant plot holes/stupidly acting characters.
True, both movies are overrated, but The Third Man is ridiculously so. The movie is just plain dull, in my opinion. The Maltese Falcon is at least watchable.

The Maltese Falcon pretty much put me to sleep, but The Third Man is every bit the classic it's made out to be. You guys are crazy!
